Thanks for the response Thus far, I have run all of the troubleshooters at my disposal and attempted a driver reinstall (no new drivers for my device is available). Unfortunately, turning the wifi on and off doesn't work for me. Troubleshooters were telling me, on some occasions to resort to hard wiring into my router with an Ethernet cable (maybe that was a clue, but all my other wireless devices are working fine). I'm receiving a Windows 10 update as I type this so maybe it will get fixed. Otherwise, here I go again trying to sort another Windows 10 'upgrade'.
Apr 3, 2017 - Hi. Here is a link to the Atheros Win 10 driver for your model WiFi card. It is V10.0.0.341, dated.
I'm experiencing the same problem! My laptop loses WiFi connection every 10-20 minutes. It still shows all the available networks, but doesn't seem to be able to connect to any of them. Turning WiFi on and off doesn't help.
Other devices in my house are still connecting fine (phones, other laptop). Only rebooting the entire laptop works now and then - but even in that case it's temporary. Laptop Asus F554L Windows version 10 (1607) Wireless adapter: Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Driver version: 3.0.2.201 In my case the problems also started after a Windows update., Asus or Qualcomm ought to be able to fix this through some kind of update right?
We shouldn't be forced to use a plug and play adapter. I specifically tried a clean install of Windows 10 as a possible fix, but it did not work for me. When you said you performed a clean install, were you referring to a Windows 10 clean install, or a clean install of the driver for the wireless adapter? As I have not found another copy of the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 driver (version 3.0.2.201) available for download, I was wondering if the copy on my machine could be corrupt (i.e., when I uninstall and reinstall am I just reloading the same problem)?
I have the same problem, but it happens about once every day, some times less, sometimes more. I have an ASUS K555L laptop with Atheros AR9485 WI-FI. It has no hardware switch.
My WIndows 10 refuses to connect to my wireless network and the only solution is to close everything and restart the laptop. I've tried: - restart my wireless router (soft and hard reboots) - run the network troubleshooter - enable/disable Airplane Mode (soft and using keyboard keys) - disable/enable the device driver Nothing works. I have several other devices (Android phones, Ipad, chromecast, other laptops) and they never disconnect, so I am sure this is a Windows 10 issue. Hi BGGrit, What and all steps have you tried so far? I had the same issue, but turning Wi-Fi button on and off makes it work. However you can try the steps provided in the link below updating drivers or re-installing drivers or running the troubleshooter. I'm having the same exact issues. Started right after an automatic up from Microsoft, as soon as the computer rebooted, I started having wifi connection issues.
I also have the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485. Very frustrated! I have started a new business and began working from home about 4 months ago. NEVER had a problem connecting to my wifi until the automatic Microsoft update!
I have lost hours of time trouble shooting, rebooting and pulling my hair out! I hate to make changes to a computer I have to have to work from home! If I make a mistake and it only complicates things, I'll be in worse shape than I am now with the intermittent connection!
Qualcomm does not offer support or drivers to end consumers. Qualcomm sells Integrated Circuits (ICs) to module manufacturers or other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and under contractual obligations cannot offer end user support. For issues regarding configuration and usage of your product, please contact the OEM's technical support department.
We suggest you refer to the manufacturer’s website, as they typically offer online technical support pages where software drivers, updates, and other related information can be obtained. You need to contact the OEM of your equipment directly as we are unable to support our chips once the manufacturer has modified them for their particular use.
